Fwiw, we also usually have a sinkful of dirty dishes, but I discovered that the benefit of my standing to wash the baby is high priority (and having a "tub" that is proportional to her size), so most of the time I quickly move everything out of the sink for her baths. The rest of the time (when dishes are too many), we use an inflatable duck tub. When she was little-little, we did sponge-baths on a towel on the kitchen island (so that might buy you a little extra time to problem solve).

I think you're due a bit after me (I'm due July 16th) but it seems like we're probably at the same stage emotionally in our pregnancies...and I love reading your posts!
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for giving shape to the cluttered and jumbled thoughts in my head...

ha. all i can say is that: glider w/ grey and green - paint the wood a dark charcoal. same general realm as the main fabric, but darker. green will pop. go.

THROW STUFF OUT. don't debate, just do.

again, i'm a mere short hop away. and a RUTHLESS declutterer (which should happen with the five boxes/bins still sticking around these days. ugh)

WOW! You put even more thought into this than me ... especially before baby is even born! I can't wait to hear what you have to say once you have actually tried everything. I went with Flips at first but Pockets are my favorite now - it's so much easier to stuff all at once and have a diaper that is ready to put on quickly when you have a very wiggly, naked kid in front of you!

I just started blogging seriously and have only talked a little about cloth so far, but if you want to check it out I'm at tangledupingreen.blogspot.com.

Hi Miss -

I went to Motherhood Maternity yesterday because my belly had been aching this week and I thought a belly band might help...who know. It doesn't hurt today so I'm not wearing it. Anyway...I ended up buying some clothes and I got this skirt which looks surprisingly cute...I also think I remember you like to wear pencil skirts...it might look cute with the snug tank and a cute sweater over the top. And it was on sale $20.

Weight gain and body image changes during pregnancy are difficult to wrap one's head around. And it doesn't help when other people start commenting or passing judgement about how "big" or "small", or "wide" or "large" you are. You're not alone in having mixed feelings about this kind of stuff.

As for the unwanted baby belly rubbing, when your MIL goes for the target (keep an eye out and watch for it because you say it happens every time), take a step back and firmly say, "I would prefer you didn't rub my belly." Awkward, a bit, but after one or two times, people will usually get the message that your body isn't public property. Or, you tell your MIL a made-up story about how some friend of a friend (or a complete stranger) came up and just started rubbing your belly without asking and how awkward and uncomfortable it made you feel, and that you really just wished they had at least asked first. Or, you could always do what a friend of mine did: swat away reaching hands while saying, "No!" ;)

i guess this is a bad time to ask if you received the coupon i sent out yesterday. anyhoo, did you? starts the 17th.
i would recommend addressing your mil asap. if it were me, the longer i would wait, the greater chance i would be hostile. nip in bud.

We use gDiapers and are happy with them although aside from one pocket diaper we received at a shower, I have no way to compare! Anyway, we didn't use any newborn cloth diapers - we received quite a few packages of disposable diapers at showers, mostly from people who didn't know us well enough to know we were doing cloth. Between those and the ones we got from the hospital, we were set for the first few weeks. So my advice is, don't commit to renting anything until you see what you get!
