I went with Flips at first but Pockets are my favorite now - it's so much easier to stuff all at once and have a diaper that is ready to put on quickly when you have a very wiggly, naked kid in front of you! Awkward, a bit, but after one or two times, people will usually get the message that your body isn't public property. Or, you tell your MIL a made-up story about how some friend of a friend (or a complete stranger) came up and just started rubbing your belly without asking and how awkward and uncomfortable it made you feel, and that you really just wished they had at least asked first. Between those and the ones we got from the hospital, we were set for the first few weeks. So my advice is, don't commit to renting anything until you see what you get!
