Within five minutes of entering his new classroom, Javi was at home. Me, I had ten or more questions about what would happen and when, but he was fine. Of course he was fine. He’s ready.
November 5th, he will start school, first for a few hours, then a few more, until at the end of the week he’s phased into his regular day. 8:15 to 4:30 feels like such a long day for a baby, but he’s no longer a baby, really, and for many reasons, that long a day will be okay.
I have six weeks to get used to the idea that my baby is a kid now. And to shop for supplies:
All this time wishing he’d be just a little older and now I just want to freeze him.
